I need Allah in My Life

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Quran like we treat our cell phone? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we flipped through it several time a day? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? What if we used it to receive messages from the text? What if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it? What if we gave it to kids as gifts? What if we used it when we traveled? What if we used it in case of emergency?

Family relationships are a very important part of Islam and it's our duty to try to maintain our ties of kinship, in'sha'Allah. Want one way to help maintain ties within your own household? Try having dinner together every night as a family. Turn off the TV, get rid of the magazines, and sit as a family and eat together. It will make a world of a difference, in'sha'Allah.

If we want a nice car, we have to work hard for it by saving money. Similarly, jannah (paradise) is expensive, much more expensive than any Mercedes-Benz car so you have to work hard for it. So let's keep striving hard for it. Let's dedicate our lives b/c that is the asking price for jannah. (a reminder to myself first and foremost)

You think your life is tough? Well know that the Hell-fire is a lot tougher!

Know how if we think about others things while sitting in a class and meeting, we don't benefit from that lecture or meeting then as our mind is preoccupied with other thoughts, right? Similarly, if our mind is thinking about other things while we are engaged in salaah, how much are we truly benefiting ourselves then? Indeed, let's strive to have more khushoo [concentration] while we are performing our prayers, in'sha'Allah [a reminder to myself first and foremost]

Have you made dua today?

Imagine you died and were awaiting your account on the Day of Judgment. Imagine the joy you would feel if you were to receive your book of deeds in your right hand:

"Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand; He will be judged with an easy account; And return to his people in happiness" (84:7-9)

How happy would you be! It's your decision. It's up to you (by your beliefs and actions) to determine which hand you receive your book in...

You are the author of the book you will receive for the Day of Judgment

Both happiness and sadness do not last forever in this life. However, one of the two will last forever eternally in the Hereafter. We want the happiness aspect for eternity, but how many of us don't work hard for it? We often sin instead. We often times choose a temporary and short-lived happiness in this life by following our desires instead. Happiness or sadness, what will be your final outcome? Which one are you committed too?

When you ask Allah for paradise, aim high and ask for firdous, the highest level of paradise. May Allah (SWT), the Most High, grant us all firdous and allow us to hang out there together as believing friends, Ameen!

One of the best advices I can give you is to surround yourself with good friends. You are defined by the people you decide to associate yourself with. Therefore, choose your friends wisely and if someone is not good for you, maybe it's time to move on...

and again..
